In New york earlier today, six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady has signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a deal that guarantees $50 million and includes a $10 million signing bonus and $15 million salary for 2020. The 42-year-old Brady spent the first 20 years of his career with the New England Patriots and says he's thankful for the opportunity he received with the Bucs. Brady appeared in nine Super Bowls and 13 AFC championship games while winning 17 AFC East titles with the Pats.
In Atlanta, running back Todd Gurley has accepted a contract with the Atlanta Falcons,. The deal comes just one day after Gurley was released by the Los Angeles Rams. The one-year, $5 million agreement was confirmed to The Associated Press by a person familiar with the deal. The University of Georgia product rushed for more than 1,000 yards in three of his five seasons with the Rams, but he ran for a career-low 857 yards with the Rams last year.
In Colorado, the Denver Broncos have worked out a two-year deal with former Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon. A person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press that it's worth $16 million with all but $2.5 million guaranteed. The two-time Pro Bowl selection has three dozen rushing touchdowns over the last four seasons and 47 touchdowns overall. Gordon totaled 908 scrimmage yards after recording over 1,200 scrimmage yards in three straight seasons from 2016 to '18.
