Pharmacists in Hannibal are taking extra precautions against the coronavirus, including some that they aren't required to take by the state.
At Grand Pharmacy in Hannibal, they're not letting anyone inside the building, and are instead asking their customers to pick up medications from a pick up table they've set up outside, or at their new curbside pick up location.
Pharmacists said calling ahead for curbside pick up keeps the potential for exposure to a minimum.
"If they call ahead with their card, then no money is exchanged, which we're all concerned about how many germs are on the money, if the virus can live on the money and how long, so we don't have to exchange anything we just bring the prescription out to you and that's the only thing being exchanged," said Grand Pharmacy Pharmacist Greg Gilmore.
He said you can still pay in person however by pulling into their parking lot and pressing the door bell they have set up for assistance.
