Monroe City Subway helping feed the community

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Brothers and co-owners of the Monroe City Subway Chris and Alex Griffin are doing their part to make sure nobody goes hungry through the coronavirus pandemic.

After posting on Facebook that they wanted to help out just two families at first, donations to help cover the costs of the food started pouring in to help feed children in the area.

Over the past three weeks, the Griffin's estimated Monday's delivery brought the total to over 700 meals.

Despite all their hard work, the Griffin brothers know who really deserves the credit.

Chris Griffin said that, "This is all because of the community.

We've been getting a little recognition that we don't deserve or anything like that and it's just all the community.

I just feel like the town has just come together a lot more then it was. We were always a close-knit community, but I feel like it's gone to a different level now."

If you'd like to donate you can drop off cash or a check at the Monroe City Subway drive-thru window.
