Parks open in Quincy with restricted use

QUINCY (WGEM) — Basketball goals in Quincy parks are now rimless.

The Quincy Park District removed the rims from basketball hoops in public parks Monday.

Park district officials said the parks are open to visitors but the equipment is closed to the public.

Everyone is asked to observe social distancing while in the parks.

"Go ahead and use the trail, use South Park, go to the Moorman Wavering Complex, you know just stay your six foot away from each other you can still have a conversations you know do your exercising but the quicker we can get through this the better off our community will be,"

Rome Frericks Quincy Park District Executive Director

The Park District office is operating on a virtual basis and general maintenance at parks is still being performed.
