Good news, for those who have been ready to hit the fairway, this Friday, May 1, the Quincy Park District will be opening Westview Golf Course to the public.
Park officials said there will be strict guidelines golfers will have to follow. A few of those guidelines include golfing will be walking only, however, a golf cart will be available for those with a walking disability. There will only be two people for each tee time, which are in 12-minute increments to keep golfers separated.
“Just getting people out in the parks is just a small victory to, you know, starting to come back to some sense of normalcy,” said Rome Frericks, Quincy Park District Executive Director.
Also opening May 1, Art Keller Marina. The marina will return to normal hours of operation and will have fuel sales.
Restrooms will be open at the marina and the in the pro shop at the golf course.
“We just want to ensure to our golfing community and the boating community that everything will be safe and sanitized, so please come on out and start enjoying our resources that we have," said Frericks.
All other park closures still stand and have been extended to the new deadline of May 31.
