Most of the day yesterday turned out to be a very nice day. We had sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
Then, as a cold front approached, we had showers and thunderstorms roll through the Tri-States. We had a few severe thunderstorm warnings with those storms.
Now that the cold front has passed, today is going to be cooler. Highs will only be in the low 50s. But that's not the only reason we'll be cooler today.
The low pressure system associated with the front will continue to push clouds and scattered rain showers over us today. It's also going to be windy today, with gusts up to 35 mph.
So today will end up being a breezy, damp, and chilly day. The showers will taper off tonight with decreasing cloud cover.
Lows will be cooler than the past couple of nights, in the mid-40s. It will still be breezy though, with gusts up to 28 mph.
A high pressure system will be building into the Midwest for tomorrow, leading to sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s. However, it will be on the breezy side again with gusts up to 23 mph.
The sunshine will continue into Friday, with highs near 70. Then by Saturday, highs will be near 80. Our next weather system will bring us the chance of showers late Saturday night into Sunday.
