PALMYRA, Mo (WGEM) — Palmyra fire officials say a man has died after being entrapped in a grain bin in Northeast Missouri on Tuesday night.

The incident happened on Highway B in Palmyra, Missouri.

According to Palmyra Fire Chief Gary Crane, crews believe the man climbed into the bin while unloading grain.

"What we gathered, they were augering grain out of the bin and loading a truck, and evidently, the individual climbed the bin to check on it," said Crane.

"It wasn't unloading fast enough, and then for some reason stepped into the bin and it collapsed with him."

The man's identity has not yet been released by authorities.
