PITTSFIELD, Ill (WGEM) — The Pike County Sheriff’s Department has reported the arrest of a Nebo, Illinois, man for Indecent Solicitation of a Child, Grooming, Distributing Explicit Material to a Minor, and an Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Violation Warrant.
Sheriff David Greenwood reported that on Thursday, KTS Predator Hunters, LLC alerted law enforcement that James Chestnutt 37, had been private messaging suspected children through social media.
KTS Predator Hunters, LLC is an investigative group that poses as underage children and attempts to identify adults that attempt to solicit children through the use of the internet.
The mission of the KTS Predator Hunters, LLC is to inform the public of child predators in our communities. KTS Predator Hunters, LLC work hand in hand with law enforcement to ensure arrests and convictions can be obtained.
Upon receiving messages from KTS Predator Hunters, LLC, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department located and arrested James Chestnutt at his residence in Nebo, Illinois.
James had just been released 10 days earlier from the Illinois Department of Corrections on mandatory supervised release on May 4.
The investigation and arrest of James was a joint effort between the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and the KTS Predator Hunters.
The incident remains under investigation and additional charges are likely.
