Blues in the District held its first virtual show Friday evening from Washington Theater.
The District Executive Director Bruce Guthrie said due to COVID-19 restrictions the event couldn't have been held in the park as usual.
He said tonight's event went well and hopes the blues music bought everyone a little relief during this tough time.
"We can't do it in the park, so we said what's the next best thing? Washington Theater, stream it and just enjoy some beautiful blues music," Guthrie said. "Sitting on a beautiful night on your patio, or a deck or whatever and enjoy it, that's what we wanted."
WGEM Chief Meteorologist Brian Inman co-hosted the event tonight.
Guthrie said they will evaluate how the event went before finalizing the schedule for June.
