QUINCY (WGEM) — Hy-Vee locations in Quincy announced that they are closing early Monday evening.
According to Facebook posts by the Broadway store in Quincy, the main stores, convenience stores, as well as the Wine and Spirits Store will be closing at 8 p.m. Monday.
The post also states that the perimeter departments will be closing at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Stores will reopen Tuesday at 6 a.m.
Corporate spokesman Christina Gayman said the decision to close the stores was collectively met by local stores and stores in the district due to protests and riots.
Gayman said that although there is no fear of incidents at the Quincy stores they will follow the decision to close early to assist with logistics between all stores in the region.
Gayman says this will be a day to day decision and is not permanent.
