The Quincy Mall reopened today with some changes in place that managers say may be here to stay.

It had been closed since March due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Mall's Property Manager, Mike Jenkins, says they have signage posted through out the building encouraging all customers and employees to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Jenkins says they're also offering curbside services to customers who aren't yet comfortable with shopping in stores.

Jenkins says, "We want to make sure that everybody feels safe and that their mental and physical safety, health, and well being are top of mind an are upfront and center if they want to come back and acclimate themselves to shopping at Quincy Mall."

Betty Sherwood brought her husband to an appointment at QMG…and realized Quincy Mall was back open.

Sherwood says, "I was sitting out in the parking lot waiting for my husband and I saw people coming in and out realized it was open again."

Some store managers say it has been hard having their doors closed for months and are excited to have their customers back.

Domestics Etc.'s Mall Manager Kellie Boyce says, "We've had a big impact because we haven't been able to have customers or do any big online shopping because of the shutdown. So, we're excited to be open and have everybody come in and see our products and get custom stuff started up again."

Boyce says, they're limiting occupancy to 10 people to maintain social distancing.

She says things are different now, "The first thing they're going to notice is social distancing, masks, we do have gloves and masks for them here we have sanitizers."

Sherwood says she's all for reopening, but has concerns with people not following the rules.

She says people need to think of others, like her husband.

Sherwood explains, "He receives chemo-treatment so he doesn't have an immune system and I have to be careful for him."

Quincy Mall is running new temporary hours.

  • Monday-Saturday: 11am to 7pm
