IOWA (WGEM) — Republicans in Iowa nominated Mariannette Miller-Meeks for the U.S. House, representing Iowa's 2nd Congressional District in Tuesday’s Primary.
Miller-Meeks is currently a member of the Iowa Senate from the 41st district.
She beat out four other republican candidates for the nomination: Bobby Schilling, Rick Phillips, Steven Everly and Tim Borchardt.
Miller-Meeks will run against Rita Hart (D) in November.
The winner in November will replace Dave Lobesack (D) who choose not to seek re-election and said he is retiring.
