A Heat Advisory has been issued beginning Wednesday at 11 AM - 7 PM for Scotland, Clark, Lee, Hancock and McDonough counties. Expect heat index readings to be between 100° and 105° Wednesday afternoon. The high heat and humidity may cause heat related illnesses. If you are outdoors make sure you drink plenty of water. Take frequent breaks in the shade or in air conditioned spaces. Very warm and humid conditions continue, the hottest day is expected to be Wednesday. Evening showers and thunderstorms remain possible.
Muggy conditions will continue through the end of the week with limited relief from scattered thunderstorms Wednesday. Storms look like they will be more numerous Thursday into Friday. Some of the thunderstorms could be strong with gusty winds and hail Thursday Afternoon and Evening. Slightly cooler temperatures may move into the Tri-States over the weekend. Or should I say it won't be as hot?
