Quincy street work wrapping up

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

Smoother roads are ahead for Quincy drivers as a city street project nears the end.

Between 5th and 7th Vermont street has been closed for a few months to vehicle traffic.

The city's utilities director says workers are on track to finishing that project this week.

Jeffrey Conte says there are more projects that are also set to be complete this week.

"Contractors are going to be putting on the asphalt surface this week. Hopefully by the end of the week assuming the weather holds up which right now it's looking good for that…the asphalt surface should be done." Conte Said.

Conte says there'll be some clean up work in the parkways between the sidewalks.

He says Hampshire street from 12th to 14th is also set to be complete this week.

Conte says some projects drivers can be on the look out for are:

  • 3rd and Cedar
  • 6th and 7th Oak
  • 10th and 12th College
  • 14th and 16th Lind
