The Quincy High football team continues to put the work in at Flinn Memorial Stadium as their off-season conditioning program rolls on. The players will be rewarded for their focus and drive on Wednesday. That's when the QHS coaching staff will distribute the new equipment they received earlier today to the players. That will allow the squad to hit the turf in "football gear" for the first time in 2020. It should be interesting to see how the players respond as they continue to prepare for the upcoming prep season. The "Blue and White" are scheduled to open the season August 28 against the Raiders of Quincy Notre Dame.
In Lee County this evening, the Lady Chiefs of Keokuk are set to play host to the Lady Hawks of Central Lee on the prep softball dirt. The game will take place at Joyce Park, and will be the final home game of the regular season for KHS. COVID-19 safety precautions are also still high on the list of priorities in Chiefs Country. WGEM's Garrett Tiehes caught up with KHS Athletic Director Zach Summers and found out firsthand just how focused the Keokuk athletic program is regarding health and safety.
