HANNIBAL (WGEM) — The Marion County Health Department (MCHD) reported it's 3rd COVID-19 related death on Wednesday.
No other information was made available on the individual; however, health officials said, "the Marion County Health Department staff wish to extend their deepest sympathy to family and friends."
The MCHD also reported four additional positive cases of COVID-19:
- 3 males ages ranging 30 – 70 quarantined at home
- 1 female age ranging 30 – 40 quarantined at home
Health officials stated the total number of test-positive cases is at 183 with 53 of those active.
Health officials stated there are currently 8 individuals hospitalized.
MCHD officials stated staff are working in coordination with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) to determine any close contacts of that individual who were possibly exposed. If there were any, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and monitor them closely for the development of symptoms.
The Marion County Health Department urges the public to take appropriate precautions including good hygiene, social distancing, wearing a mask, and limiting in-person interactions.
