Warmer temperatures are poised to revisit the region through Monday, beginning Saturday afternoon. A ridge building into the Tri-States region from the southwest will usher in warmer air temperatures through Monday, along with an increase in relative humidity values, particularly for both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Heat indices could again approach or reside within the cautionary range over the weekend. This surface pattern will also bring chances for unsettled weather through the extended period (early to mid-week), until a cold front clears the area by later Tuesday night.
How warm are temperatures and heat indices expected to be this weekend? Tune in tonight at 5 PM, 6 PM and/or 10 PM for the latest thinking on heat and humidity values that are poised to return to more uncomfortable levels for your weekend. I'll also have a check of precipitation chances for the extended forecast, and forecast modifications will be completed between the 6 PM and 10 PM newscasts after new model data arrives this evening.
