Two local fire departments are hiring and because of COVID-19, they're doing it together.
Usually the Tri-Township Fire Department and Quincy fire department train and hire in different schedules but because of COVID they're combining their
Officials said it will help them cut down on costs and save recruits both time and effort.
"This kind of gives a chance for the area applicants to put in for both of them and not have to study and to test for two exams, they can come and take one exam that knocks out both and the possibility that they could get a job offer from either department," Chief Tom Bentley said.
Tri-Township fire officials say if you're interested in apply come down to the station on 54th Street to pick up an application.
"For Tri-Township they would actually come to the station and pick up their application here. If they are at a distance they can call us or email us and we can email an application we can send back in," Bentley said.
He said applications are due on August 28th no later than 4:30 p.m..
