On Saturday, Quincy Notre Dame softball player Katie Cowan signed her National Letter of Intent to Culver-Stockton.
Cowan was both a third basemen and outfielder for the Lady Raider program.
She said she expects to play either corner of the infield (First Base, Third base) as well as outfield.
When talking about her decision Cowan said this, "First, academically I loved everything about it. It had both of the majors that I was deciding between and athletically I loved the girls, the team and just everything about it."
Anjay Clark, the C-SC head softball coach said Cowan brings more to the team than just skills on the diamond.
"I think the thing that I'm most excited about is her personality. I think she will fit in extremely well and she's going to bring fans from the local area which is going to be really nice to have more of a consistent fan-base," Clark said.
Cowan's former QND coach, Eric Orne is thrilled with this former players decision.
"There's a lot of good softball programs at the collegiate level in our area and Katie is connecting with one of them right now. Again, this just says what the Tri-State softball area can do and we're lucky one of our home-grown ones is saying at home and is going to play next year at Culver,"he said.
