Through the end of the week temps should be topping out in the mid to upper 80's. When you look at the record books for this time of year you will run into a string of record high temps set back in 1936. For over a week in August of 1936 the high temps topped out 100° or greater. This was the peak of The Dust Bowl years. So, while it's been a little on the warm side at times this month and last, we haven't reached 100°. Looking at the long range it does not look like we will see any extreme heat through the end of August. In fact, it looks like things will be a bit cooler than normal for the last half of August.
