QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - Quincy fire crews are investigating what caused a house fire at 1224 N. 4th Street.
The fire started around 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday night. Fire officials said a woman died in the home.
When they arrived on scene, fire and smoke could be seen coming from the back of the home.
Fire officials called it a three alarm fire and multiple crews responded to the scene.
Police and fire crews have put up investigation tape around the home as well as boards around the windows and doors.
Fire officials have not released any more information about the woman or the cause of the fire at this time.
They said no one else was injured in the fire.
"[It was] a pretty good body of fire, it seems like there was a lot of contents in the home, but the guys did a good job getting it knocked down pretty quickly, so there's no other injuries I know of at this time," said Dept. Chief Steve Salrin of the Quincy Fire Department.
