The pandemic has Christmas starting early for the Quincy Neighborhood Federation.
Brittney Welch, the Quincy Neighborhood Federation event coordinator says they're beginning this year's Blessing Boxes today.
People can now pick a local child's name and fill a shoe-box worth of small toys, treats, essentials, gift cards, and more for that child.
"This year we're doing it a little bit different we're starting early in case COVID-19 would happen to shutdown our schools and our centers before Christmas. We want to ensure that we can still deliver Christmas to the kids," Welch explained.
Welch says people can pick up boxes to fill, now until October 15th, Monday through Thursday, 10am to 3pm at 812 Payson Ave in Quincy.
She says once boxes are filled, they plan to deliver them to the students the Thursday before school lets out.
