Palmyra city officials said they're looking for funding to get started on multiple bridge repairs across the city through a community development block grant.
Palmyra mayor Loren Graham said they're applying in October and hoping to hear by December for up to $500,000 for bridge replacement at several locations in town including ones on West Main Cross and one on Bradley.
He said they're also utilizing funds from a tax passed by voters last year to help apply for the grant.
"We're also planning to put some money into it ourselves, in either cash or kind work up to maybe $30,000 of our own funds to maybe help with the process of applying," said Mayor Graham.
He said the bridges they're looking at replacing have had issues with storm water drainage in the past and are highly traveled by normal traffic as well as school buses.
