Macomb schools canceled because of WIU Shooting

MACOMB (WGEM) -- Macomb public school superintendent Patrick Twomey said classes on Wednesday are canceled due to the ongoing investigation at Western Illinois University.

He sent out an alert that said, "At approximately 10:40 last night there was an active shooter event at Western Illinois University in Thompson Hall.  The shooter is still at large this morning therefore we are canceling all in-person and online instruction today Wednesday, September 16th.  We will send out another notice when we are ready to resume classes."
