QUINCY (WGEM) -- St. James Lutheran School in Quincy had a special visitor today. Mayor Kyle Moore of Quincy stopped by Mrs. Stark’s second-grade class at to talk the children about government.
The second graders were eager to meet the Mayor as the have spent the last few weeks learning the different branches of government.
This week their focus was learning about the local government here in Quincy.
"I hope they get to see what he does on a daily basis. How important his job is in our community, and they learn a little about what he does inside our community," said Denys Stark, St. James Lutheran second-grade teacher.
Mrs. Stark hopes this visit from the Mayor showed her students how much the local government impacts their everyday lives.
