QUINCY (WGEM) -- Quincy's city wide clean up took place Saturday morning on Front Street and Payson Avenue.
Organizers said it was an an opportunity for people to bring multiple loads of qualified items for Republic Services to dispose of properly.
They said they expected a higher turnout than usual this year
"With COVID and being in quarantine and things like that we kind of expected for the volume to be higher and the city of Quincy did not disappoint," Republic Services operation manager Jayson Heberlein said. "We've been very very busy."
Organizers said they expected to collect potentially 400 to 450 tons of waste.
