Sturhahn Jewelers in Quincy is celebrating its 109th anniversary by making a difference.

The business is donating $1500 each to the Quincy Public Schools Dream Big Foundation and the Quincy Notre Dame Scholarship Fund.

The owners said they want to give back to the community that's supported them for more than a century.

"We've been so fortunate that our community has rallied behind us and really helped us get back in the swing of things," co-owner Sarah Stegeman said. "And so it's just another way for us with our 109th anniversary to give back to this community and find a way to help support those who really need it most right now."

The QPS donation will go towards sponsoring their virtual auction while the QND donation will be used as a $500 scholarship over the next three years.
