QUINCY (WGEM) -- Two known polling locations have been changed in Adams County after a recommendation by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Health officials encouraged the temporary change of any polling place located within a long term care facility. If you normally vote at Saint Vincent's Nursing Home or the Illinois Veteran's home your location has been temporarily changed.
Adams County Clerk and Recorder Ryan Niekamp said it is all about safety.
“We don’t want to bring a ton of people into those campuses. Cause we just want to ultimately protect the residents at those nursing homes. So for the ones at Saint Vincent's and the Illinois Veterans Home they have been moved now to the National Guard Armory," said Niekamp.
Officials say if you were used to voting at one of those locations you will now vote at the National Guard Armory.
If you have any further questions about the temporary change to contact the County Clerks office.
