QUINCY (WGEM) -- A local non-profit plans to hand out more than 250 free meals on Christmas Eve this year.
'Kids Second Chance' is an organization that mentors troubled youth and provides resources for them and their families.
Leaders with the organization say they wanted to fill a need for families this holiday season.
"There are still a lot of people that are having trouble either providing meals for their family or feeding themselves. so we thought we could do something with pre-cooked and already prepared meals that people could get a drive up service, where they would pull through the school parking lot and we could actually help feed their families," said Kids Second Chance President Shane McDermott.
The drive-thru giveaway will take place on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to around 1 p.m. at the St. Francis school parking lot.
The group will put the prepared meals in containers that you can pick up and take home.
