Police take man into custody in Hannibal Inn burglary

HANNIBAL, MO -- Hannibal police reported an arrest in a burglary attempt Tuesday night.

Police were called to the Hannibal Inn on 4141 Market Street around 6:42 p.m.

The owner of the business reported to police that a male subject was inside attempting to steal items. When officers arrived, they located a 40-year-old white male who locked himself inside a small room.

Police say the man has ties to the Hannibal and Quincy.

He taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Marion County Jail and placed on a twenty four hour hold pending issuance of a warrant.

The Hannibal Police Department was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Marion County Sherriff’s Office.
