QUINCY (WGEM) -- A Quincy man was charged in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday for distribution of child pornography.

Following a four month investigation, Parker Arrowsmith, 21, was taken into custody at his home Tuesday morning, according to the Quincy Police Department.

QPD said the investigation began in September after a user was flagged for posting pornographic images on social media.

Court documents state that Arrowsmith faces four counts of Child Pornography for sharing lewd images of a child on Snapchat.

In addition, court documents show that Arrowsmith is also charged with two counts of Sex Offender Registration Act Violation for failure to report his internet identity.

The documents explain that Arrowsmith failed to alert the Quincy Chief of Police of his Snapchat account within three days of its creation.

His bond was set by Judge Debra Wellborn at $7,500 which requires 10% cash. Jail officials said Arrowsmith posted $750 Wednesday afternoon and was released.

Arrowsmith is a former employee of WGEM's production department, but was not employed by WGEM News.
