A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Scotland, Clark, and Lee Counties from 6AM Monday through 6AM Tuesday. The National Weather Service has a chance for 6"+ of snow and a light glaze of ice across these counties.
Saturday night there will continue to be the chance for some light snow showers across the Tri-States. Generally a coating to an inch of snow is possible, especially in Northern counties. Through the day Sunday, most of the area should see mostly cloudy skies. A few showers may swing through during the afternoon hours. Areas with lower temperatures may see isolated patches of freezing drizzle. This could lead to a few icy patches on bridges and untreated surfaces. Otherwise, temperatures Sunday will warm into the mid to upper 30's.
Sunday night, a storm system will begin to approach the Tri-States from the South. Precipitation will begin to build in through the day Monday and last into Tuesday. For exact timing and the amounts expected for the rest of the Tri-States, tune in Sunday Night on WGEM News at 10.
