QUINCY (WGEM) -- The United Way of Adams County is now able to help more in the community after a great fundraiser.
Earlier this week, the United Way of Adams County held a virtual meeting ending their 2020 'Starts With You' campaign.
During this meeting, they announced that they exceeded their 2020 goal of $1.1 million with $1.125 million pledged to date.
With this money, the United Way of Adams County will help 19 other organizations within the county that have different programs and services.
Because that's the thing about United Way people don't realize as much.
You're investing in the people of Adams County when you contribute to United Way, says Philip Krupp Chairman of the 2020 'Starts With You' campaign.
"You're not just giving a donation or being charitable. You're investing in the people that live, work, and go to school around you. It only makes the community better" he also says.
Some of the organizations the United Way of Adams County helps are the YMCA, Horizons Food Pantry, and the Salvation Army.
