QUINCY (WGEM) -- Mayor Kyle Moore of Quincy gave his last State of the City speech Friday afternoon.
Moore spent much of the speech looking back at the last eight years of his tenure as mayor.
Moore began the speech acknowledging the hard work of city officials. He also applauded both Quincy Mayoral candidates for signing up to serve the city. Both candidates Nora Baldner and Mike Troup were in attendance.
Moore went on to focus on his administration's efforts in jail reform, economic redevelopment, retail incentives, tourism development and infrastructure development.
Moore was particularly proud of the work put in at the water treatment facility and the Quincy Regional Airport.
Towards the end of the speech Moore addressed the hardships faced by the city over the years, including the Covid-19 Pandemic.
He also applauded those who have been working the vaccination drive at the OLC.
Mayor Moore said he believes that Quincy has a bright future and he looks forward to working with both mayoral candidates to ensure a smooth transition of power.
After the speech, both Baldner and Troup said that Moore's legacy and impact on the city are impressive and they hope to continue Quincy's growth in the future.
