WASHINGTON, D.C. (WGEM) -- A Quincy couple, accused of playing a part in the January 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol building, entered a not guilty plea during a court appearance via video Friday in the District of Columbia.

Court documents state Jason and Christina Gerding pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct, entering a restricted building, and demonstrating in a Capitol building.

Court records included a photo, the Gerdings originally posted on Twitter, of themselves in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda during the riot.

Court documents detail several tweets by Jason leading up to the insurrection, and show that his account displayed a tagline of "We The People Have Woken" with a profile picture of Donald Trump with a "Q" background.

The Gerdings are scheduled to appear next for a status conference via video at 10 a.m. on March 17.
