QUINCY (WGEM) -- Parishioners at Church of Saint Peter in Quincy hung plaques to memorialize Father Augustus Tolton.
Tolton is the first Black American priest in the United States/
Tanner Arntzen said they're hung nine plaques that picture the life Tolton lived until now, as he is going through the process of becoming a saint.
"I've learned so much, putting these plaques on the wall and laser etching them at our facility here in Quincy and I'm just so excited for others to learn about Father Tolton's life."
The memorial is at Church of Saint Peter across from the building that used to be Tolton Hall.
