It was certainly an exciting day at Macomb High School with two of teh school's golf standouts set to sign National Letters of Intent on Wednesday. The big event was certainly a delight for Bomber coaches, parents, school administrators, and the entire MHS student body. Seniors Jack Lockard and Braeden Duncan were in the Tri-State sports spotlight as they signed their NLI's just after 2:00 p.m. in McDonough County. We'll have details on where the talented duo will be headed later this year to continue their academic and athletic careers in the collegiate ranks.

Also at Macomb High, the Bombers football team is busy preparing for a "Football Friday Night" battle on the road against undefeated Elmwood/Brimfield. The Trojans are 3-0 this season while the Bombers check in at 2-1 after losing against Knoxville High last week, in Macomb, 48-0. We'll check in with head coach MHS Tony Westen and gain a little insight on the challenge ahead for the "Orange and Black!"

In college hoops news and notes from Macomb, the Western Illinois women's basketball team announced today that a former UC Bearcat and Fighting Illini signee is now set to join the ranks of the Leathernecks. We'll have details on latest transfer that has WIU head coach JD Gravina so excited about teh days ahead at Western Hall.
