QUINCY (WGEM) -- Local authorities did their monthly training on emergency situations Friday in Quincy, and gave WGEM an inside look.
The Adams County Sheriff's Special Response Team and the Quincy Police Department Emergency Response Team underwent a joint training session.
Quincy Police Department Deputy Chief of Administration Services, Adam Yates, said FBI agents, based out of Chicago, hosted the event that happens every month.
He said the two forces in Quincy go through this to get more used to working with each other.
"I just think this is a great opportunity for the Sheriff's Department and the Quincy Police Department tactical teams to get together," Yates said.
"Work on skills, you know, we have to be ready to handle any type of situation and we may be called upon to come together."
Yates said you should not be alarmed if you see the police going through the training, as again, these are planned meetings.
