The temperature swings of the weekend look to continue through the first half of the work week. Temperatures recovered into the low to mid 60's for much of the Tri-States Sunday as the storm system which brought the heavy rains moved off to the Northeast. Some areas that saw clouds linger, such as Macomb, stayed a bit cooler in the 50's.
Heading into Monday and starting the work week, temperatures should once again reach the 60 degree mark for many. However, a cold front and Northwesterly winds will swing in behind the low in the Northeast. This set up will bring unseasonably cool temperatures to the Tri-States for the middle of the week.
While the forecast looks much drier than this past week, there still may be some rain showers especially towards next weekend. This dry period should give area rivers and creeks enough time to sink back below flood levels.
