PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) -- Palmyra's new mayor will take office at city council on Thursday night.

Palmyra Mayor-Elect Rusty Adrian won the recent election unopposed.

He said now he's looking to keep moving forward many of the projects Mayor Loren Graham started.

Adrian said he's lived in Palmyra his whole life, and hopes to help the town continue to grow.

He said part of that includes a number of projects, some of which are already underway, including outer roads for industry and semi truck traffic, along residential expansion and more.

"We've got good infrastructure started. We got some sewer upgrades we need to do, we've got about four or five wells, we need to upgrade and get generators for them in case we have power outages like we've had had," said Adrian.

Adrian said he's also pushing for industrial expansion east of town.

He points out that he started with the city back in 2006 on the Board of Industrial Development Authority, and is a member of the Hannibal Regional Economic Development Board and Port Authority.
