COVID-19 testing and vaccine operations to wind down at Oakley-Lindsay Center

QUINCY (WGEM) -- The Adams County Health Department announced Friday that COVID-19 testing and vaccination efforts at the Oakley-Lindsay Center would wind down as health officials moved those efforts elsewhere.

Officials reported the drive-thru COVID-19 testing site will be relocated from the Oakley-Lindsay Center to the Adams County Health Department parking at 330 Vermont St. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Tuesday.

After Tuesday the site will be open at this location Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Adams County Health Department also issued a reminder that Saturday would be the final opportunity for Illinois residents ages 16 years and older to receive the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at the Oakley Lindsay Center mass distribution site.

Individuals can register for an appointment online at or by calling 217-600-4829.

Officials added those wishing to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment beginning Monday, may do so through the Adams County Health Department’s outreach events, by calling the Health Department at 217-222
8440 and scheduling a vaccine appointment, or by contacting their established medical office.

Patients of Blessing may call 217-214-9626.

Patients of Quincy Medical Group may call 217-222-6550 extension

Patients of SIU may call 217-224-9484 to schedule a vaccine appointment.

According to the health department, individuals seeking the second dose of vaccine may contact the Adams County Health Department to make arrangements.

The health department announced it will also be offering additional walk-in COVID-19 vaccination opportunities for residents of Adams, Brown, Hancock, Pike, or Schuyler counties in Illinois.

These walk-in clinics do not require pre-registration and will be held:

Monday, April 26 (Return for second shot May 17)

  • 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.: Cathedral of Worship (215 North 25th St, Quincy)

Wednesday, April 28 (Return for second shot May 19)

  • 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.: Cathedral of Worship (215 North 25th St, Quincy)
  • 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Quincy Senior Center (639 York St, Quincy) This is a drive-thru event
