QUINCY, Ill (WGEM) -- Musical notes floated through the breeze in downtown Quincy due to the return of live music.

Concerts in the plaza restarted this Spring with shows on April 30th and May 7th.

Several onlookers enjoyed the show while taking in the fresh air and enjoying lunch.

Two more shows are planned on Friday May 14th and Friday May 21st.

The concerts run from 12pm until 1:15pm.

The shows are organized by the District with support from First Mid Bank and Trust.

Executive director of the District Bruce Guthrie says he was happy to have the music return to the downtown area.

"It's just a great way to get out in the community, bring the live music back, get people coming out now. With the pandemic we couldn't do it last year so this is just a wonderful way to allow people to come out and spend their lunch time," he said.
