In a big announcement released this morning in the "Show Me State," the Palmyra R-1 School Board has hired Brian Rea as Middle School
Physical Education Teacher and Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for the
2021-2022 school year.

Also today, Rae announced he was stepping down as Athletic
Director, Teacher, and head basketball coach at Payson CUSD #1 in Payson, Illinois.

During his 13 year tenure at Payson, Rea’s basketball squads have tallied an impressive 256-86 record. Coach Rea will also serve as a Middle School football coach in Payson. We'll have more on Coach Rea's impressive run with the Indians in the IHSA prep basketball ranks.

The Hawks of Quincy University were back on the GLVC Baseball Tourney diamond this morning facing the Miners of Missouri S&T. The two squads met in an elimination game after dropping their opening games yesterday. We'll have details on the big match-up in St. Charles, Missouri.

The Class 1/District 13 Baseball Tournament is underway in La Plata, Missouri. In the first game of the day, the 4th-seeded Canton Tigers put their (10-6) slate on the line as they squared off against the 5th-seeded Mustangs of Marion County. We'll have a breakdown on who won the post-season showdown on the prep diamond.
