After a wet start to the weekend, heavy rain returned Sunday afternoon and evening. A couple areas even saw some lightning mixed in with the rainfall.
Storm chances will continue through the overnight hours into the day on Monday. Rain chances will remain off and on much of the day. Thick cloud cover will also act to keep the temperatures down into the upper 60's to near 70.
For the rest of the week, warm air and moisture will be funneled into the Midwest from the Gulf of Mexico. This will keep rain chances in the forecast for much of the upcoming week.
