QUINCY(WGEM) -- After a year of being stuck in the house due to the pandemic the Quincy YMCA is stressing the importance of health for children and families.
The YMCA is hosting its annual 'Healthy Kids Day' this weekend, which is free of charge. The goal of the event is to educate youth and their parents on healthier alternatives.
Johanna Voss said there will be a number of vendors at the event, Quincy Medical Group, Blessing, Quincy Public Library, and the Quincy Fire and Police Departments.
"They're all bringing information or activities that engage the child, engage the youth. Get them excited about having a little more activity in their day or maybe choosing something a little healthier to eat. And again it's all about being a healthier individual."
The event will be outside weather permitting on Saturday, May 22nd from 1 pm-5 pm. No registration is required.
