MACOMB (WGEM) -- Macomb Fire Chief Rick Driskell said there are still a lot of "unknowns" about Monday's structure fire.

Driskell said they were called to the Macomb Walmart on East Jackson Street Monday around 2:30 p.m.

He said the cause is still uncertain and investigators spent Tuesday morning on the roof of the store.

"We've narrowed the area of origin down to an area on the roof, involve where there are solar panels. And right now their investigation is looking into that."

Driskell said the fire never made it inside the door, but there was water damage.

"Right now were still under investigation certain entities need to be notified things like that. So, we really can't say a whole lot."

The chief said the investigation into the fire will continue and he's proud that the employees and police helped fire crews get everyone out safely
