The Lady Raiders brought their hot bats to "The Backyard" this evening and wasted little time putting runs on the board against visiting Beardstown. After 4 innings of action, the "Blue and Gold" posted a big 15-run shutout victory over BHS. The Lady Raiders will now prepare to host Pleasant Plains on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the IHSA Class 2A Regional Championship.

On the diamond at Ferd Niemann Jr. Memorial Field, Ethan Kite led the Raiders up against Pittsfield in a highly anticipated Class 2A Regional Semifinal battle. QND head coach Ryan Oden had the "Blue and Gold" focused and dialed in at the plate and in the field against the upset-minded Saukees. After 7 innings of action, Quincy Notre Dame posted a convincing 8-2 win to keep their state title hopes alive. We'll have game highlights from 10th & Jackson.

In the Prospect League, the Quincy Gems were able to post their first win at home this season after 9 innings of action against the visiting Cape Catfish squad. Quincy gave up 2 big runs in the very first inning but were able to recover late in the game thanks to a dramatic 3-run home run by QU product Gino D'Alessio. The man from Milwaukee is a red-shirt freshman with the Hawks. The victory also helped the Gems snap a 5-game losing skid. We'll have highlights from QU Stadium. Quincy will be on teh road tonight facing the Clinton LumberKings in the Hawkeye State. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
