HANNIBAL (WGEM) -- Sawyer's Creek in historic downtown Hannibal is planning to open its doors after being closed in October 2019 and the entirety of 2020.

Like many other business, they are struggling to find employment.

However, due to the unemployment, manager Jeanne Youngwirth has changed the park's hours.

I want to take that fine balance of being here for the customers, but also taking care of our staff. All staff members need that mental break. They don't need to be working seven days a week.

Currently, there is no set date for when the park will officially open.

The park will now be open Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.

The park will also be limited to all outdoor activities and the sweet shop indoors. However, this is subject to change as more employees come in.

Youngwirth hopes to expand more shops as the summer goes on, and hopefully maintain enough employees to be open daily.

To know when the park will be open, follow along on their Facebook page.
