QUINCY (WGEM) -- As COVID cases fall, Blessing Hospital lifted guest restrictions Thursday.
Non-COVID patients can now have up to two visitors in their rooms between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., plus the hospital cafeteria and the tea room are again open to visitors.
Blessing Hospital Volunteer Services Worker, Sarah Cole, expressed the importance of allowing more visitors for patients.
"I think that it is very important," she said. "You know we really value and respect and understand the importance to have your loved ones around during a trying time."
Cole said she is excited the hospital is easing up on visitor restrictions.
"I think it's a fantastic move forward for our patients and for their families," she said. "It's really important to our community that they're able to see and be with their loved ones."
Blessing Hospital said COVID positive patients can still have one visitor per day. That visitor, however, must be fully vaccinated.
All visitors should use the main entrance at 11th and Spring Streets.
They must wear a mask, be 18 years or older and bring a driver's license or state-issued photo ID to enter the building.
