(WGEM) Quincy -- Local students are learning about the weather at the STEAM around the world camp this summer.
Steam stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
For five days, Quincy University students teach Teen Reach students.
They learn about tornados, hurricanes, and other severe weather conditions.
Students listened to WGEM's Meteorologist Whitney Williams on Thursday as she talked about her career in meteorology.
One student, Braiah Hunolt, said she is glad the camp hosts speakers because it prepares them for their future.
"We're like kind of getting a head start to know what to expect whenever it's our turn to go out and find a job and go to school and all of that," Hunolt said.
The STEAM camp ends Friday.
